How do I choose a domain name?

Your domain name needs to be something that people will intuitively remember when they think of your business. That is why it is usually the business name or a closely related abbreviation of the business name. You then need to decide what type of domain you want ie .com or .com.au etc. This will depend on things like what type of business you are running. For example, a non profit organisation would choose .org or .org.au. It will also depend on how broadly you want to be recognised. If you only trade in Australia you would most likely choose .com.au, whereas if you were trading overseas also, you might choose .com.
